Cookie Policy

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, how EcoCleantech NW Ltd uses them on our website, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.

Last updated: February 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website owners useful information about how visitors use their site.

Cookies can be “first-party” (set by the website you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by a different website). They can also be “session cookies” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).

2. Our Legal Basis for Using Cookies

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) when using cookies on our website.

Under PECR, we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. Strictly necessary cookies (essential for the website to function) do not require consent, but we still tell you about them in this policy.

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will appear allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies, or to personalise your preferences by category.

3. Cookies We Use

We categorise cookies into four types. Below is a detailed breakdown of each category and the specific cookies used.

3.1 Strictly Necessary (Essential) Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as logging in to an admin area. Without these cookies, certain parts of the website cannot work.

Cookie NamePurposeDurationType
admin_sessionAuthenticates admin users who have logged in to the website administration area. This cookie is only set when an administrator logs in.24 hoursFirst-party, Session

3.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your preferences or settings. If you do not allow these cookies, some features may not function properly.

Current status: We do not currently use any functional cookies beyond the essential cookies listed above. If we introduce functional cookies in the future, they will be listed here and you will be asked for consent.

3.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. This helps us improve the website for future visitors.

Current status: We do not currently use any analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics). If we introduce analytics cookies in the future, they will be listed here and you will be asked for consent before they are placed on your device.

3.4 Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites to allow publishers to display relevant and engaging advertisements. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Current status: We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run remarketing campaigns or use tracking pixels. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some features on our website may use third-party services that set their own cookies. We have listed these below for transparency:

4.1 AI Chat Services (OpenAI)

Our AI-powered quote chat and recruitment chat features use the OpenAI API to process conversations. The API calls are made server-side (from our servers to OpenAI), meaning OpenAI does not set any cookies on your device. Your conversation data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4.2 Email Services (MailerSend)

We use MailerSend to send notification emails (e.g., when a job application is submitted). MailerSend processes emails server-side and does not set any cookies on your device.

5. How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

5.1 Using Our Cookie Consent Tool

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will appear at the bottom of the page. You can choose to:

  • Accept All — enables all cookie categories
  • Reject Non-Essential — only essential cookies will be used
  • Personalise — choose which categories to enable or disable

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Preferences” button below:

This button triggers the cookie consent banner so you can update your choices.

5.2 Using Your Browser Settings

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all cookies from all websites
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set

Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of our website and other websites you visit.

5.3 Browser-Specific Instructions

Here are links to cookie management instructions for the most common browsers:

6. Withdrawing or Changing Consent

You have the right to withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time. You can do this by:

  • Using the “Manage Cookie Preferences” button on this page (see Section 5.1)
  • Clearing your cookies through your browser settings (see Section 5.2)
  • Contacting us directly (see Section 9)

If you clear the cookie_consent cookie from your browser, the consent banner will reappear on your next visit, allowing you to make a fresh choice.

7. What Data Is Collected via Cookies

The essential cookies we use collect minimal data:

  • admin_session: Contains a randomly generated session token (not personal data). Used solely to verify that an administrator is logged in. This cookie is only set when an admin user explicitly logs in.
  • cookie_consent: Contains your cookie preference choices (e.g., which categories you have accepted or rejected). Does not contain any personal data.

We do not use cookies to track your browsing activity, build user profiles, or share data with advertisers. For full details on how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

If we introduce new non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ensure the cookie consent banner reflects the new categories. You will be asked for consent before any new non-essential cookies are placed on your device.
